£40 million jewel heist car found in Ickenham
A CAR used as a getaway vehicle by the gang behind the £40 million Graff gems has been discovered in Ickenham.
Forensic experts are studying the burned-out Volkswagen Sharan, which police believe could be a crucial part of the criminal jigsaw.
It is believed the gunmen who carried out the raid in latex masks used the Sharan after fleeing the store in a BMW.
The Metropolitan Police were tight-lipped about the exact location the car was found, but it is suspected it was near to the A40.
The Sharan is believed to be the second of three cars used in the gangs impeccable getaway from the jewellers shop in Mayfair, central London, where they held a member of staff at gunpoint as they escaped.
Police also believe several gang members who played a part in carrying out the daring broad daylight raid are from London and are still in the country.
